Analysts argues in October that Unibet & Betsson should consider a consolidation move to strengthen their position in the market.

There is indication that the first online gaming licenses to the Spanish market could be issued as early as the end of 2011, following amendments to the Ley del Juego (gaming laws). However, controversy still remains as to the level of taxes. The gaming industry in Spain moves €30.000 million yearly, around 3% of the national PLB and generates 100,000 jobs. Yet, it remains uncertain how many people play regularly in this dynamic market.
